[b]Ted Chiang[/b] (born 1967) is an American science fiction writer. He was born in Port Jefferson, New York and graduated from Brown University with a Computer Sciences degree, and has attended Clarion. Today he resides in Bellevue, near Seattle, Washington. He has won Nebula Awards for his short stories "Story of Your Life" (1999) and "Tower of Babylon" (1990), and both a Nebula and a Hugo Award for his novellette "Hell Is the Absence of God"
