Although Nikolai Yakovchenko played mostly comedic roles, he dreamed of playing Othello and even read monologues to his friends. In the movie, the actor still managed to perform a dramatic role in the film “Grandfather of the left extreme”, but this was his last film. To the 100th anniversary of the birth of the great comedy actor in Kiev, a monument to Nikolai Yakovchenko was erected - the old artist sits on a bench, and his beloved dog is located at his feet.
