Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1949). Born January 25, 1898, died January 19, 1964 In 1926 he graduated from the Higher Theatre Workshops of the Maly Theatre. Worked at the Rabis Theatre. Since 1935 – actor of the Maly Theatre. Almost the whole life of Pavel Olenev was associated with the Maly Theatre. On this stage, he played dozens of character and comedy roles, becoming one of the favorites of theatrical Moscow. Olenev was buried at the Vagankovo cemetery on the same site with many luminaries of this scene.
